While nothing jumps out as especially surprising, given the broad swathe of people who play The Sims, people who might not otherwise play many games or see the point in investing in a modern PC. You can play this game offline. If you're planning on buying anything from the sim shop then you would need internet of some sort to access. Other than that, gameplay should work without internet. Computer To Play Sims 4
Can my computer run The Sims 4?
By Cliff Henjum June 24, 2019
The Sims franchise has been a powerhouse in the gaming world for almost 20 years now and it isn't showing any signs of slowing down. The Sims 4 was even the best selling PC game of 2014 and 2015 and now has six complete expansion packs. Whether you want to build an epic neighborhood of beautiful houses or you just want to watch your Sims grow or you just want to create an endless maze of hedges for them to get lost in, The Sims 4 surely has something to keep you entertained. In order to play The Sims 4 on PC, you'll need a computer that passes the minimum system requirements. This hopefully won't be difficult for too many computers since the minimum system requirements for The Sims 4 are even lower than those for Minecraft.
Passing the minimum system requirements for a game typically means that your PC will be able to run the game at a playable framerate on at least Low settings. Accomplishing that is actually pretty easy when it comes to The Sims 4. There is even official support for on-board Intel GPUs as low as Intel GMA X4500! If you have a discrete GPU, you'll only need a GeForce 6600 or a Radeon x1300. The GeForce 6600 is the 299th most powerful Nvida GPU and will only run about 30% of the games in existence currently, but thankfully for you, The Sims 4 is one of them. It's a similar trend for the required CPU - only a Core 2 Duo E4300 or Athlon 64 X2 4000+ is needed to pass the minimum CPU test. This means that pretty much any modern desktop or laptop can get The Sims 4 up and running if you're willing to turn down some graphics settings.
If you want to install ‘photorealistic mods' and/or play with the graphics turned all the way up, then your PC needs to pass the recommended requirements in order to ensure a fun gameplay experience. As far as recommended requirements go, The Sims 4 has some pretty low requirements which is great news for fans of the franchise. Specifically, your computer only needs a GeForce GTX 650 alongside a Core i5-750 or Athlon X4. The initial install size is only about 10 GB, but you'll need a lot more space than that if you plan on installing other expansion or game packs like The Sims 4: Island Living. A simple 4 GB of RAM is also needed, but that amount is very common in today's PC gaming world.
Introduction
Sims 4 can be installed from DVD or as digital download. If you bought the DVD, you can do either. I use chrome.
You will need an active Internet connection to register the game, activate it on the computer and download it.
Activation
Activation works a little different, depending on whether you bought the game on Origin or through some other source.
Bought through Origin
The game is automatically activated on the account you bought it with. After buying you can find it in My Game Library and you don't have anything further to do.
For awhile now, Origin also offers to gift the game to someone else but that can only be done with people living in the same country.
Bought on DVD or another seller
The seller should send you a key which you can register on Origin (the DVD version should have such a key in the box, see Installing from DVD. Chrome remote desktop macos mojave.
This key can be either registered on the Origin.com website or through the Origin-Client. Make sure to login with the account you want the game on. This cannot be changed later.
Always make sure to buy key from authorized sellers only. Keys from other keysellers have been known to be removed from accounts in the past, since they come from shady sources. It's better to wait for an Origin sale instead of buying a cheap key.
Download and Installation
Sims 4 To Play Online
Downloading and installing is one step. It does not matter if you install the game for the first time or if you're reinstalling, The steps are always the same.
- After activating your game (this only needs to be done ONCE), you will find the game in my Game library on the Origin client.
- You should decide what language you want the game in and where you want it to be installed before installing. Both can be changed afterwards in a rather simple way though.
- Click on the game and click on the orange download button.
- In the appearing window you can choose if you want a short cut and a entry in your start menu or not and then click on Continue
- Wait until the game has finished downloading and installing. This can take a few hours depending on your connection since Origin is downloading almost 9 GB.
- After installation the game is automatically patched even if you have automatic updates turned off.
- Now you can click on the icon on your desktop or simply press play in Origin to start the game.
The license allows you to install the game on up to 5 computers in the same household. You can only register the game on one Origin account though since it's a one-user license and only one person can play the game at any given time.
